Hi all, i'm building a small veg room somewhere in the region of 4' X 2' X 4' high, would like some advice on what light i would need for this please, cheers for now G'.

I would go with a Metal Halide lamp mate probably a low wattage as it saves on leccy

they're great for Veg and will find on ebay but will need ballast to run if you don't already have one.

Cheaper alternatives are T5 or CFL bulbs.

how long do you plan on vegging? With mh bulbs they veg a bit quicker that floro or cfl

Hi fatha, you could make things a lot simpler for yourself by growing auto plants. I saw in your other post that "3 plants are enough" for your needs, is the purpose of a seperate veg room so that you can stagger your harvests for constant supply?

Also how much are you aiming to yeild each time?

Grow autos in a larger area so you harvest less times a year Imo.

My veg room is a very similar size and I run two 200 watt CFL in the veg spectrum and in the summer months I remove one lamp . With just the one lamp running I maintain better temps but slightly slower growth. I have a 100mm fan switched by a household thermostat and a small desk fan for air movement the lamps switched by a home and grow timer . My veg room isn't very documented as not much happens in there but you can see it at the very beginning of my journal 😃🇬🇧 in that space I wouldn't personally use a mh lamp and would only use CFL or t5s or a small led 😃
