Alrighty people. Was in the middle of building this until shoulder surgery stopped me in my tracks. Was hoping to have this up and running by now. Here’s some pics and info for all you interested peeps.
The room is constructed with the following:
12mm ply on the external. This is fixed to 3x2 CLS framing. The framing is anchored to the floor, ceiling and walls of an outbuilding on my land. The framing is filled with 3 thicknesses of Extratherm sheet insulation..
80mm - ceiling
60mm - Internal stud wall
30mm - Floor and inside walls
I thermotaped all insulation and stud work.
Then I fixed 11.5mm Gyproc Duraline plasterboard to the internal walls. This is the top all round plasterboard you can get. It’s 30min fire proof. It has thermal, acoustic and moisture resistant properties also. I chose this as I did not want wooden internal walls.
The floor is 3x2 CLS, filled with insulation and boarded over with 22mm moisture/fire resistant board. The ceiling is framed with 3x2 CLS and will be boarder over with Duraline (when my shoulder can manage it)
I have had a brand new 32Amp consumer unit & relay installed and run it into the room with
2 x double socket & 6 singles.
I have yet to fix them in position as you can see. I also have to construct the light proof door which won’t take too long. I have taken a brick out of the external wall for extraction but have to cut the inside vent out to attach ducting.
Anyhoo....more to come as I progress but here’s some pics for shits’n’giggles 👍
