Has anyone had much experience working with Horticulture Lighting Group? I bought the HLG-550 and I got mine in a few weeks ago and so far I am very impressed and have certainly burnt me eyes a couple times

I built my own bad boy except I used 6 panels instead of 4. It is much brighter than my 1000w MH, 1000w HPS combo. Statistically they are supposed to be some of the best grow lights on the market. It's been hard to get a hold of the diy boards because of demand. My plants seem to have responded well. I installed my light 2 weeks ago and I went with 3000k for all of the panels.

how much did it cost to build? buyin that hlg550 works out at about £900. am only thinkin of something for the very few hot summer months we have in UK, save me running my aircon again, i wont get the results i do with a hps but better than nothin.

Go for it joker mate, it will pay for itself in the lighting and cooling savings after a few grows. It reckons its 550W (4 panel) is equiv to 1000W HID. Thats probably a stretch but its got to beat a 600 all day long.

As soon as I have some more dough I will be building one of these. Not sure how great they are for veg at 3000K but im sure you can customise some cooler colours into there

Where did you get the quantum boards? Ive seen them on Ali Express

Price is the only thing to worry about now I reckon. These are even better than cree cobs that everyone raves about. Lets see how David gets on with his.
