My advice is big returns, thevtrees you can grow in these get massive root balls and I’ve had my 22mm returns blocked more than once.
If your not using beneficial microbes I strongly suggest a chiller too, sorry if it’s allready been pointed out but it’s a couple things that come to mind mate

I have the choice of using a sppare room my basement or a motorhome I have . or if i wait i will be building a 3 car garage which I like better that way its out of the house. but i want to start growing whaaaaaaaaaaa

i went to my local hydro store and was talking with the guy he was telling me i should go with atlest with 3/4 inch returns. after seeing MRman post of the size of some of these root balls should i be looking at some form of a filter to keep the root balls at bay. the other thing the told me to do was to make sure that my lines are equal so the buckets don't drain faster then they can refill.
i found out i will be moving my stuff to the basement.so that means i will have to run power. i am also thing of using a bigger tent then i will need so i have room to work in it. what i notice with this venture is not having someone to help you build the setup. i'm sticking to rule #1 dont tell anyone! since i going to a unfinished basment any tips you guys can shed some light on? should i look into a way of hiding the tent ? i would like to finish it but i don't want to go through the process of getting permits. it seems to me the more i plan the more i push off my starting date.

i think i might look for a mentor to help me out to get things right. this place has a whole ton of info and great people. i noticed since i looked into doing this i have been studing this i think more then most . i think it my ocd.lol sad to say i wish i had aa member that was close by to help me get started ,but i know most member are in another country. i wonderwhat the fearlevel is among the people of them getting caught. sorry to ramble on when i start i will trying to do a whole diary of what i'm doing so i can get pointers along the way .

    thank B
