they don't require Red during veg, but during flower they do require both blue and red,
so it's a duel spectrum Led,

I've grown them from start to finish under red light only, and notice no difference.

    excellent, thanks people...

has anybody experimented with changes lenses on LED to make the lights focus the LED output on a smaller input...rather than waste radiating light....whether it's going to mylar or not

Depends on how many watts the light puts out and if you can afford to turn that many off if you have switches. Better to have the watts than worry over spectrum

When you have the led set to grow only it still does have a few reds.

Remember sunlight contains a lot of red still even in Spring.

That's cool, but I think we are talking about Full Bloom Buster LED's, which have only red light with a little white. Like an 220W Solarflair bloom buster. lol

You can grow from start to finish with just either blue or red lighting... you won't get optimal results but it will happily grow plants
