I stopped over 10 years ago as it was starting to make me ill. For me it was surprisingly easy, I think I was more scared of giving up than anything. The golden rule is you have to want to give it up or you will fail.

I bought The Nicotine Trick by Neil Casey, which is very similar to the Allan Carr books. This changed my mentality as to what cigarettes do to us completely.

After this I got a hypnosis CD, Stop Smoking in One Hour by Susan Hepburn. So I listened to this early one morning and all I could think about was smoking, in the end I had one, the urge was just too overwhelming. Halfway through the afternoon that day I put out a cigarette I had only half smoked and I stopped. I couldn’t quite believe what had happened so I listened to the cd every morning that week to reinforce things. I’ve never smoked since, never even had a craving and I hate the smell.

Physically it takes about 4 days for your body to adjust, after then any cravings get less.

    Bongs, lots of bongs

Oh and M_C keep saving your pax abv, works nicely in a joint with a nice pile of Kief on top

I tried a couple of times before. The first was half a day.

The next time the doctor suggested I give up smoking, and to get some patches. I was on low income and said that I couldn't afford both the patches and tobacco.

The last time, I went to a pharmacy and asked for something. I just needed to stop for 12 hours as I had a flight to catch. They gave me a plastic cigarette that you pulled apart and then inserted a tobacco cartridge.

I've given up trying to give up.

I'd tried 4 or 5 times in the past to go cold turkey or use nicotine patches, gum....

Then on my Mums death bed (cancer) in 2013 I promised her I'd give up so bought an e.cig and never looked back!

It's not a breeze, at 1st you still crave that taste and the way tobacco coats your mouth and of course you are actually dropping down to a far lower dose of nicotine but I loved it, I could just grab that e.cig and puff away and the craving would pass.

6 months and 4 days later my Dad also passed away from cancer and I grabbed a cigarette from my sister outside his hospice and YUCK!!! The way it coats your mouth and feels/tastes disgusting! But the surprising thing was that it hurt my lungs to inhale it. You remember when you 1st started smoking how it would hurt if you took a drag? Well it does that again. Really proves to you that you did the right thing giving up!

Ignore all the bullshit you read about e.cigs. I chose to believe the research done by the Royal College of Physicians here in the U.K that found them to be 95% less harmfull than tobacco.

I'll tell you something too, since quitting I've not had a single cough, flu, sore throat..... only 2 minor colds in 4 years.

With the vaping weed technology being so much better now too it really is a great time to quit and boy will you feel a difference in your health, trust me it's incredible.

Also, I was diagnosed with cancer in April last year. A 2cm tumour on my cervix.

My oncologist told me that although it wasn't directly caused by smoking that it played a part and that smoking would not only have made it grow quicker but would have enabled it to spread quicker too so if I hadn't have given up when I did it could have been a far worse scenario. I escaped with major surgery but was just on the cusp of spreading to the surrounding tissue which would have resulted in needing Chemo/radiation and added and extra 20% chance of it returning and most likely killing me.

I was a very lucky girl indeed!

I’m 2 weeks in off the tobacco just smoking weed only, one things for sure the rate I smoke I need to double the amount of weed I’m currently harvesting and I’m not getting nearly as much work done and I can’t make the gap bigger between joints lol,
My missus has a volcano in the cupboard I just can’t get on with or it’s not working properly, I’m going to look for samwises vape thread to see if I can choose a vape with help from there and I’m off to Camden Town Saturday hoping they still sell the same kind of stuff they did years ago to buy a bong!
    Good luck all
    Blessings and gratitude
