Yeah thrips can overwinter, but in a groom cant imagine them doing that. There are different species of thrips, the ones i see most often are plague thrips, they generally show up when you lawn gets too long and weedy. And they come in numbers lol. They dont build resistance as quickly as mites but they can build resistance, thats another reason im against constant spraying of anything. Sure you will have em feked soon enough brother. I was given some Marigold seedlings a few months back put them around for a bit of colour. Seems the thrips dont mind them either lol. I hear alot of tales about Marigolds keeping the insects away, never had much faith in that, but seems they could be used as a sacrificial crop.
