    Default Test meters???

    Hi all,

I have been reading through loads of diaries/advice and equipment lists people have.

So I have a novice question.

Is a TDS meter the same thing as a EC meter?

I ask because most listings on EBay list as TDS EC meter in the same title.

I already have a TDS meter and PH pen from fish keeping and wondered if this was all I need or if an EC pen was required on top of these two.

    Thanks for your input.

A TDS/EC meter usually means it measures in PPM which can be converted to EC. Trust me, been there, done that... and dumped the TDS meter within a month!

Get an EC meter. Essentials do a fairly cheap one if it's about the money, failing that, look at Bluelab

As others said, PPM, CF, EC is all the same sort of meter, just different scales of measurement/display, personally I find PPM a bugger to work with, l'm too trained by metric :P I'd vouch for Essentials and Bluelab as well and use them both (My Blue lab EC/pH combo was pricey (150ish?) but is going strong 5-6 years on with just a battery change (apart from the pH bit :P )
    Strider's Sup Lemon Haze & L.A. Confidential DWC Good...hopefully...2018
