Afternoon folks, some advice if I may ...
So at the tail end of last year (the exact date slips my mind) I popped a bean (7 Dwarfs Seeds, Cyclops; an auto). I don't do the whole paper towel thing; my beans go straight into their final pot, a 15 litre airpot. The seed was at least two, if not three years old - again, i don't exactly remember when i bought it. Just thought i'd give it a go and see what happened.
She sprouted sometime around New Year's eve - and, again, I don't recall the exact date (me um lazy grower).
I grow in coco, under LED.
About 24hrs (if that) into her seedling growth, i had a domestic emergency to deal with, which took me away from my family home (and groom) and has pretty much had my full attention until now (elderly mother with dementia collapsed, spent two days unconscious on her bedroom floor, was found by police on NYE and then spent the next two weeks in hospital - it's consumed most of my time and energy sorting things out for her and caring for her. She's finally back home but with carers and I've only yesterday returned to my family home).
So my bean has been somewhat neglected to say the least. Astoundingly, she's still there! I've checked on her at most once a week, each time thinking she'd be shrivelled or dead - watered her (no time to make up feeds), at most once a week. Temps have been around 21c but RH very low due to the dry conditions.
Bear in mind, I grow in coco so this is not good!
We are now on the 24th Jan! I checked on her this morning, again expecting her to be a gonner but amazingly she's still hanging on.
Neglected, starving and stunted but still hanging on ...
I gave her around 300ml water this morning to wet the coco and then ran a litre of feed at 1ml / l (Advance Nutrients pH perfect grow, bloom and micro with 1ml silicon)
What do i do? Do i pursue, give her lots of love and attention for hanging on and not dying on me and see what happens, or do i just start afresh with a new bean?
This is an auto, so age is a concern, what about the stress to the plant? Is it going to affect growth, health and everything else?
I'm not normally this neglectful - lazy and i forget to document dates, etc but I've never left a plant unattended for so long.
Thoughts and advice appreciated as always.
Safe and happy growing folks ...
