    Default Using coco coir for the 1st time

    Hello guys wanted to get some info and advice on using coco coir, I’ve just bought some in blocks and wanted to no the best way to use, I have 12litres pots that I’ll be using, the coco coir comes in blocks and says can hold up to 40litres, I no I need ph water level of between 5.5-6.2, which isn’t a problem as have ph up and down solution, but wanted to no how to use it, considering it’s in a big block, I also have perlite aswell, should I add that in aswell

    Hi mate, just throw the coco blocks in a bowl, add water & wait

    Ok cheers for that, is it something I could cut/saw up before adding water, only asking as 1 block will hold 40 litres, I have 12litre pots, so 1 block will do 3 pots will some left over, with the other 2 pots I didn’t want to use the whole block if I’m not going to need it, so thinking can I break up before watering, as not to waste any

    I would assume that you can do that... I've never really played with coco blocks before

    I got the blocks as they were £4 a block, they had some coco coir in a bag(when added to water will make 15litres) but that said it had slow releasing nutes, which didn’t think was right as usually 100% nute free, that bag also cost £4, pic to show, will let no when I do in about a weeks time, waiting for seeds to germinate

    That is a 50L bag, it's ready to go straight from the bag & it costs me about £11 from my local hydro shop
