    Default More issues with lights

After the problems I had before I thought they were sorted. But there not. I have a bay 6 digital ballast and a 600w hops dual spectrum. The lights are on 24/0 (auto grow) to keeps temps closer. The light is not running through a timer just the ballast plugged straight into a 13amp socket. The lights keep going off for 20-30 seconds then coming back on. this is happening every 3 mins. it's doing my head in as I've only just changed the lightbulb 2 weeks ago and the previous lightbulb was only 8 weeks old. Any suggestions?

How many lights are you running and how big or what’s the rating on the circuit you are running through?

At least there’s no chance of you overloading the circuit. That was my first thought. Are all connections tight and is the bulb full screwed in . If you have checked all of these and the answer is yes. I could only say ballast or bulb is at fault. There also could be the possibility of a thermal overload being tripped in the ballast. You could try and veg under 20 hours lights on and 4 off and see if this helps. If this helps and the light stays on you can presume that a thermal overload has been telling the lamp to power down as it’s operating temp has been to hot .

The light is going on and off every 3-4mins for 20secs so if I set it to 20/4 surely it will still start happening when the light reaches is max temp which is going to happen every time I switch it on. And yes the terminals are tight and the lamp is screwed in fully. Also as the current lamp is only 2 weeks old and the lamp before was only 9 weeks old. It's hard to believe that I would have 2 faulty lamps. I don't want it to be the ballast but I'm leaning towards this. I just hope they will send me a new one as I can't afford a new one.

Sounds like the ballast is at fault then bud. Get them informed. Might of had a drop in the factory and have something loose inside which is now overheating or something. Could potentially burn your house down in a worse case situation.

    Stay safe

The ballast itself does not feel hot. Also issue I have is they may want me to send the ballast back but I can't as I'm using it for now.

Email or contact them as soon as possible. Is this also happening on every setting on the lamp ?
