Default Help please. Leafs curling and spots?

    Hi guys,

Im growing in Tropic mix -

'60% fine grade Irish peat (holds a lot of water)
    • 40% high quality coco (light & airy for rapid rooting)
    • Medium fertilised, strength of CF 14 (EC 1.4)
    • Highly refined with stable pH (peat treated with lime)
    • Contains calcium and magnesium (at ideal ratio of 2:1)
    • No perlite (easy to dispose of)
    • No woody bits (avoid fungus gnats)
    • Contains an actual magnesium limestone!(balances pH & adds calcium & magnesium)
    • Cuttings can be transplanted straight into the media
    • For first 2 weeks just add water, then on include nutrient too

Just incase you didnt know about the mix. I am also using 23L Airpots. I started off from cuttings then moved them to the 23L pots. Then added the veg feed with a EC of 0.6 (Made a mistake here as the soil has a high ec already) so im guessing i gave it too much feed. I then gave them around 3L of just water to try and flush it out. They are under 2 CFL and 1 400w hps. They are growing very good. But i seen the leafs are hooking also some strange spots on there. can anyone help me please.

    Thanks in advance

You dont need feed in Such a highly fertilized soil , water from here on out til problem rectifies itself .

That leaf tips ,when they point right down like that means too much nitrogen, and the crispness you see in edges is nutrient burn .

You dont seem to have much perlite in there , its essential for aeration/drainage . Youll have to water very carefully

You didnt talk about your ph..... trex is right on with the tips curling due to high nitrogen (the claw), but the leaf damage looks like it could be a PH issue more then a nute burn or something else. Also some of the white spots look like they might be being munched on by some critters..... I would maybe get a scope on some of those leafs that are highly affected just to rule out critters..

perlite is something u add to the medium that u are growing in. it helps to drain the water and add oxygen to the roots of the plant

    Hey skunky

I thought while in soil p.h is not an issue? I did one last month in biobizz all mix no ph testing and went fine.. oh god dont tell me that. What about if i find nothing. Is this something to worry about

Soil ph he is talkin about , crucial for nutrients absorption . If out of range the plant roots have a very hard uptaking . Even water in some cases

Haha dont go scaring him about his ph lol. As long as your not adjusting your ph it will be fine unless you got acid coming out your tap. Blue uses that soil with tip top results. Surprised Trex didnt pull you up over the pic with the yellow light. Some pics in natural light would be much better mate. Also from what I can see highly doubt you got an insect problem.
