Lightbulb Is it bad to grow plants close to each other?

Very new to the indoor growing scene, but have been researching alot recently and very intrested in growing. An issue is space, and im limited. I have about 0.6 x 0.6m of space. How many plants you think i could grow in that? Im aware different strains grow taller, bushier etc. But my main concern is: is it bad if the branches of other plants come in contact with other plants in the area? Will it lower the yeild, quality?

    Many thanks

Hi and welcome, you could grow 2 beasts in 0.6x0.6 as long as you have say 1.5m of hight minimum. As for leafs/plants touching is doesn't matter, most experienced growers will scrog there plants so it just looked like 1 giant plant at canopy level. I'm sure others will chime in soon with other advise and wisdom. Good luck ✌

Having just completed a grow with too many plants in a small space...

If you aren't doing a ScrOG, the plants crowding each other can become a problem in late flowering.

    • Too many plants in a cramped space can make the plants develop weaker branches since they will probably be leaning against the side of your tent's walls.
    • When you rotate or rearrange the plants, those weaker branches (carrying heavy buds), can fall onto the branches of the other plants and push them down into the lower canopy and away from the light.
    • You may have to use some twine to tie them up, suspending them from one of your tent's poles. The problem with this solution is that you may run into a "bouquet" effect, where many of the branches are pulled together (instead of spread out) also reducing light to the inner bud sites.
    • If many bud-laden branches collect along the wall of your tent, they may stack on top of each other and block some bud sites from the light.

All of these problems combine into a situation that results in bud sites not receiving optimal light levels leading to an overall loss in potential yield. My opinion is if you are not doing a ScrOG, grow two fewer plants than the maximum capacity of your tent. My tent can fit a maximum of four mature plants (~3-4 ft), but I would be better served growing two.

Mon the cramped plants, scrogg style 5 exodus cheese. Just need to make sure you've got a way of supporting the colas.

I would grow one knocker, not multiple. It would be easy and more fruitful if u did one monster as opposed to multiple lil guys. It’s enough room to grow a good crop this
