Hello GMO Green. Sorry I missed your reply. In quick summary, the silver needs to be fine, 99%+ preferably, though you will get away with using Sterling silver. The pair of rods in picture were around £7 and made a litre of silver solution with most of the silver still remaining. The time depends on the amount of current to volume of distilled water. I made 1 litre of solution at 30 ppm using 27 volts from three linked 9 volt batteries, it took around 4 hours if I remember correctly. The water was from a 5 litre container of de-ionised water for car battery top up.
The crocodile terminals were cheapos from eBay.
You can reduce time required by making less solution. a quarter litre would be plenty to reverse sex of a feminised plant.
