I changed the prefilter once it was dirty and then the next time. I just sacked it off and now I just have the filter and no prefilter 😃 it is good practice to use one tho and a good hot wash inside a pillow case should be good to clean the old one 🇬🇧

To be honest I did use mine for ages, it was black. I’m assuming it’s more to stop bits getting in your filter so can’t imagine it degrades that much really. Maybe just give it a whack and shake like an old rug

Don't do what I did, and try hovering it off. All I managed to do was suck out carbon dust through it, making it darker than before I started. Not one of my best ideas.

I’ve stuck mine in the wash a few times, no problems.

Ive also put it in the dryer, it didn’t like that one bit.
