Default Answered: Ventilation question. Small tent in bedroom

    Running 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m tent, got a 4" rvk type of fan for the exhaust.....
Carbon filter > 2ft ducting > fan > 5ft ducting going to attic

Running my hps at 250w temps are easy to manage. Struggles at 400w, then at 600w she sits at 30°c at canopy level. 😨

So what I then decided to do was to run about 9ft of 4" ducting from the bottom sock vent. Up the outside of tent and into the attic. Attached to that I've bought a small 4" kenley inline fan.

Sooooooo, what's your thoughts? Shall I buy another 4" rvk fan and put it in the attic to blast air into tent? The bedroom temps are messing with the tent temps. Hence why I need to source cold air from attic

  2. "tbh matey, i would just have a bigger extraction fan if you running a longer length of ducting.

you could also blow through the filter, so you can remove filter from the tent and stick this in the attic with the extraction fan, its the way i have mine set up tbh , you want at east a 6inch RVK L1 for extraction with fat filter to match "

For that distance I would enlarge my duct work to 5 or 6". I don't know the temp, outside the tent, but it is ok I would add a fan to supply air to tent via a bottom vent. My first impression is attics are normally hot, I have drawn air from under a house to help. In the attic if you can get to the soffit you could get fresh air. But the more duct work the bigger the fans you will need. A good example:a 1000cfm fan running the 100' of 12" straight smooth duct will drop to 100cfm. Don't get me started on 90% bends. Lol
