    Recommended dose on box is there to make you use & buy more product, problems caused by using too much product can be 'fixed' by buying other products in the manufacturers range

    Oil would probably be better than hash if you are worried about taste transfer. Hash retains a lot of the original flavour. IMO. Curing is a big part you say the taste changes as you smoke it, this would lead me to believe a lot of the problem is curing but I'm no expert.
