i dont understand ....

hi folks, i grew a few plants last year but it all went wrong ... stolen plants etc etc .....
anyways
this year i started 4 plants ... same way as usual.. damp paper towel ... got a good taproot and popped them in the grow medium ... THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD ¬¬¬¬¬
lst time i used just compost .. they all grew well till put out in the wilds ...
this time i used 50 / 50 compost and coco.... as i said good taproots so in the little pots they went ... watered the same as last year ... 2 weeks later ...NOTHING ???
i gently dug into the medium with a cocktail stick to see whats happened ..... NOTHING... NO SEED .... TAPROOT NOTHING ??????
anyone had this happen before? what went wrong? did they rot away ? is it due to the 50/50 mix ?
im lost for words ....

nope... its not sheep , aliens , rabbits or even the yetti .......
theyre INDOORS in a grow box under a LED till they were big enough to plant out .... in 3 pots there was nothing whatsoever .... in the 4th there were 2 TINY green leaves .... no stem, no root nothing whatsoever ..... the compost and coco were in new unopened packs till i planted the seedlings so im baffled .....??

The only rational explaination is someone has taken them mate...... they are not just going to disappear like that, there would be something left, some one has got into your groom and taken them.

If they’d been stolen the pot surfaces would have been disturbed! If you have leaves then they grew from a tap root, if just the leaves remain then something has eaten the roots or the compost was too hot or contaminated. For sure they haven’t upped and walked out!
