5 inch will be too small in the summer, it will be flat out all the time. Better to oversize the fan to6 or 8 inch preferably, and run it off a controller.
if you had a 8 incher off a controller, it would be running aat about 80% maximum, which will also be much quieter
And your filter will last longer because its not working so hard.

My 5" is working well, it's temperature controlled unrestricted it moves 65 cfm, in a perfect world I can exchange my tents air in under 2 min.
I do have an 8" on standby if needed. Then the 5" would become an intake if needed. When I add the carbon filter I will know.

I started 2 months ago (600x900x900) with a 4" TT mixed flow extractor and passive vent, upgraded quickly to a 5" RVK as temps were an issue, then upgraded tent (900x900x1600) then upgraded about a week ago to a 6" RVK, using the TT as an active, then upgraded carbon filter to a monster 12". I have negative pressure with 50% fan and it pulls cool air down the inlet so 50% active. When lights are on TT runs about 10mins every hour to keep temps at 26°

I am using Inkbird temp and humidity controllers (About £60 if you want a cheaper alternative to ecotechnics) but am thinking of buying the Eco anyway

Buy the best you can, will save on extra spending when the cheap one doesn't hit the mark

Using the 5" as an extraction for the small tent with a passive vent

It's a simple 5" inline duct fan, most hardware store have them. I have just started to look at some bathroom extraction blowers as they seem to be nice for longer distances without losing many cfm, I like it as it is low. Noise, just not sure how it will perform with carbon filter, in the past I didn't need one. The controller is a ductstat temperature. I will have to look at the controller, I am leaning towards automation of a garden. I like to build stuff.

Setting up same size tent atm thinking this may be a good option or? I'm planning on running air cooled hood with 600w hps n 315w cmh. Will use a intake if needed but shaggy would u recommend 6 or 8inch under these lights. I don't plan on running the his 100% all the time

Mate I’m a total newbie myself been looking around and there are so many options it’s hard to choose tbh.

I just think the most important thing is you don’t want negative pressure and you want a decent carbon filter and an extraction fan higher rated for cfm of your groom by 20 or 30%

I have that size tent and it runs fine with a five inch mate. Summer is coming, so maybe you want to get a six to make it easier on the temps, but a five does do the job fine, I know for a fact, as thats what I'm running now. 1.2x1.2x2m tent, 600w hps in a parabolic shade, and even in this heatwave, my temps stay manageable.

This is tent I’m getting also.

Have you got the 100cm parabolic or 80cm ?

    What about intake fan ?
