the names/titles say it all, 1 speed, 2 speed or thermoC,

if you go thermocontrolled beware they buzz like crazy, someone on here got one and returned it due to buzz

it's best to just buy single speed, then you can get a good controller yourself that won't buzz,

you will need to wire it yourself though,

Make sure you get a decent controller otherwise that'll buzz as well

Or... I could simulate living with a bee hive in my home for a saving of a few extra pennies

Be orate if you've got a detached house, otherwise next door will hear the humming that they produce.

I made the mistake when I first started of buying the cheap one, plugged it in an my mum could hear it in the kitchen. It was plugged in in the loft haha.

Look out for a hybrid fan controller or one that contains a Variac / transformer for least noise

Those plug in controllers are bad news. Not only does it make the fan hum, it can kill the fan. Mine popped after a day of using it.
