Default Medical grow brain storming - Lights and ventilation

I was just watching Rick Simpson's Run From The Cure, and that got me crunching the numbers... I mean, just ballpark figures, of course.

So if 1 pound of bud yields 5-6ml oil, and a pound is a little under 500 grams, then:

    Roughly 500g bud yields 5ml

And going by the yield numbers at seed banks, indoor plants do some 350g to 650g per plant. So roughly just for convenience's sake let's have it at about 500g.

If the dosage is 1ml a day, then each plant fields 5 days' worth of oil; and for a 60-day course of treatment, we need 12 plants, or 10 slightly bigger ones to make it forum friendly.

I am thinking that if each plant (tree?) needs at least 1m x 1m floor space, we'd need a sizeable room to house them all if it were to be done under one roof.

My mind is a bit blown at this point.

Please can people with HUMONGOUS TENTS step in and talk about lighting and ventilation for 10 full on trees?

Providing you are growing good quality bud you should expect to yield 10-15% of the starting dry weight. You're looking between 3-4 grams of CO per ounce of dried flowers. Anything much over that is just unwanted crap. When you extract, make sure you winterise or the oils will contain plant fats and waxes

So... 1 oz is 28 grams, so just for ease of calculation we give or take have 1 gram of oil per 10 gram of good quality bud.

So for 60 grams of oil, we need 600 grams of good quality bud, which, is theoretically much more attainable going by the yield numbers from seed banks in terms of yield per meter squared.

That's awesome, Bomber. Now that dials down the need for space and ventilation to a much more manageable level!!

I take if the process is not winterised, with plant fats and waxes the overall THC concentration per volume goes down? Which I am gonna guess is not so good because there is less medicinal value per dose?

Flip. A few high yielding plants that fill up TWO SQUARE METRES and that is enough to get the ball rolling. Heck, there tents bigger than that! No wonder there is so much opposition.

P.S. Using a rice cooker to remove the solvent scares the bejeebus out of me!

    You got it

Oils that are not winterised "can" cause an upset stomach in some. You don't have too, but why risk it?

I boil off with a double boiler. I use an electric hob with a deep wok full of boiling water then the pan on top.

How would one winterize the oil? this is not a term I am familiar with.

Google the "Green Oil Machine". It's essentially an alcohol distiller that takes all the fear out of extracting oil. I have no affiliation to them, I just use the kit and it's a cake walk...No more fear of blowing myself to kingdom come!
