My job is site based and I also collect most if not all of my building materials from site . It still is surprising how much waste they make 😃🇬🇧

Yeah all is retardant to a degree but the red stuff is resistant and 1 hour on a single layer.

Also its down to the overall construction for fire protection (as you probably know), i.e metal studding opposed to 3x2 CLS, floor construction (in this case wood), the top of the staircase (wood) all of this would need to be addressed.

That was the main reason I posted not needed...

Thinking of building room with a separate door behind sliding doors , the sliding ones will just be for cover to keep it discreet

Nothing like a bit of pink plasterboard! Heaviest ones outta the lot then fire resistant!

Amazing thread! Would love to have opportunity to do something like this with the left over scraps from work ^^

Can’t wait for some photo updates!

So langers you building small room for vegging on top of the stairs and full height flower room in the bigger space. As a light proofer behind the sliding doors you could fit a blackout roller blind and making two tracks out of timber for the curtain to slide up and down in completely covering any light leaks through your doors

That’s something else to think about , I was going to have separate doors on each room that will open once sliding doors are slid out of way ,but yea using a black out material will defo block light leaks ( bloody plasterer didn’t turn up today either ,dick head)
