Firstly,im a total noob,(so please dont get over technical!) I have a 80x80x160 grow tent and am using a 300w full spectrum LED light. Also,im only ever going to grow 1-2 plants.Im upgrading my extractor system, ive got a 4'' Rhino pro carbon filter and am wanting a new fan.Ive been looking at a fan and would like some advice. It is a Black Orchid Hybrid Flo Hydroponic Grow Room Tent Extractor Fan,anyone use these? it has 2 speed settings, low is 180 m3/h and high is 245 m3/h. But the Rhino filter says it is 350 m3/hr. So would this fan be compatible with the rhino filter? Cheers
The fan is under powered to the filter. So the filter will work just fan with the fan . You get problems when the fan has a higher rating than the filter. I’d skip the green air fan and buy more reliable fan like your first choice 🇬🇧
sorry, was that ''So the filter will work fine with the fan?'' Cool, thanks. Am I right in thinking that i should run the fan on the lower setting to best eliminate any smells or would it be fine on the higher setting also? (smell being my biggest concern.)
Higher setting cleaning more air is better. Your filter can handle the flow.
More air thru the garden is better.
Not really needed till plants start to flower.
Reasons to turn a fan down.
Noise,
dropping RH to low,
dropping temps to low.
My plant has been absolutely stinking since week 2! Its mental...Now day 25 and its reeking. The cheapo carbon filter and fan that came with the kit,(been upgrading everything, lights etc) has been doing its job, just wanted to upgrade the filter and fan for more longer term.
