Don’t go poking screwdrivers in things if your not confident mate. Easy job to do but only if you know how
    Alright ginger
This is my mcb can you tell me if I can connect to it or an upgrade is needed mate.

From what I see looks like there’s room but I’m no sparky

    👍🏼

Looks like you have 3 spare ways on that board if it’s up to date on that sign.
Few ways to do it mate
Option a , run a single 2.5 twin and earth cable from ccu to the room. This needs a 20a mcb maximum. Can connect as many sockets as you like but only 20a to play with.
Option b , pull 2 x 2.5 mm twin and earth up the same route and connect to a 32a mcb and will form a ring circuit.
Option b gives you more power to play with depending on what your going to be running.

Looks like you have 1,2 and 6 available unless it’s a split load board.
Ideally don’t need to be replacing your whole consumer unit if you can avoid it.

    Hope that helps a bit

Yup that’s helped loads ginger cheers mate, a little bit more knowledgable.

I’m after like an extension cable but from the main board with multiple plugs 5 max is that doable or have I got to get a mcb you call it for the loft little confused on that one 😊 if you could shed some light on it be good
    👍🏼

I'd knock it off by the meter if I was you, I have a mains switch next to mine. Then you 100% know everything is dead.

I'd do option B in ginges post personally as that way you have the ability to pull 32a not that you'll pull anywhere near that from your groom.

But you could go the radial way instead as long as you work out what you're gonna be pulling.

    For example:-
    1200w lights
    1500w heater
1000w other stuff (never going be anywhere near 1000w)

Comes in at 15.4a so that'd be fine.

I like option b too mate but not sure what he means about a mcb in the loft is that another consumer unit and i have to draw cables from that to plug sockets or is there something out there that’s all in one so to speak.
Have new light for the new groom will be using 2x300w

The mcb goes in your consumer unit dude it stands for mini circuit breaker so your groom would be running of its own complete circuit.

For example way number 1, 2 or 6 in the consumer unit.
