Every 3 days but i was told it could have also been me lowering the ph with chems and the nuts which caused salt build up

I've used all mix a few times and it's fine as long as you don't add anything to it for 4 weeks
And Why the pH down in soil?
Also is it really drying out in 3 days?

This early on I would just leave them alone if it was me. Feed plain water for 4-5 feedings and only feed when it really needs it. Stunted plants can recover with time. Old growth will start ugly but new growth will be fine.

They're gonna a be alright mate, just take time to get use to the soil. Let them dry out good before watering again. You gave them a good watering the other day right to try and get some good out the medium? So still let them dry out a bit longer, they won't be dry enough yet. There is good in the medium, sufficient light, now you've just gotta wait, they will pick up in a few days

Not sure about LED mate, but 40cm seem to be the general rule hps. Though there isn't much heat from the LED, it will cause light bleaching if too close. If the tops of your plant start to look yellow, it's probably too close

I would put my light about 20" from the top of the plants, and let the plant grow about 4" and move it back to the 20" mark again, until I get through with veg. JMO
