    Default Mobile hotspot

Teach me please hah.. Wtf is it like wifi to go? I'm 3 miles from home on the ranch with my brother. His iPad has it's own "hotspot" but I'm here climbing on top of tractor reaching for a signal and having to be super still on my phone. I'd love not to have to borrow his iPad seeing as he now is constantly on the forum too..
I asked him and he says.. Idk I just got it when I got the iPad so no help from my kin folk

Using the hotspot function on a phone eats through data at an alarming rate. As an example when watching netflix on my.tablet I cam watch several episodes of a program and only.use 1gb of data. If I hotspot the tablet then one 40 minute episode will burn through 2gb of data. Hope that make sense

For me i am on virgin media mobile which gives you unlimited tethering, so i don't have to worry about how much data i use.
