    Default When to flush?

Hello all, I've been a little confused about one thing. I know I should flush my plants about two weeks before harvest, and I do understand what to look for to know when to harvest, but how do I know that it's two weeks before the harvest? What should I be looking for on the plants? A change in trichomes, perhaps?

Hey there Cannaboy! Welcome aboard, first, do you know what strain you growing? Many strains have specific flowering and mature times! If you had a specific strain from a breeder, you can follow the information he gave you to be sure.

The strain is called candida, though there is very little information on it! Also, I have veg'd my plant for quite a bit longer than usual, so the estimates for the grow times aren't much use to me.
I'm really worried I'll flush too late

So we are not talking about an autoflower strain. I think normally when you get into flowering for photoperiod strains it goes from 6-8 weeks. Most of the trichomes liquid balls (you need a special magnifier to see these, go get one if you don't have) which going to look cloudy when your plant will come near to mature. Its a good sign, but keep in mind that you need more information from the plant, like the pistils colours which will start to turn brown

So should I start flushing the plant when the trichomes start to get cloudy, then?

Welcome to the talk brother, you need a jewelers loupe mate or a clip on microscope the mini scopes that clip onto your mobile phone are excellent, it simply clips over your phones camera lens then you use the camera's zoom function and take some pics for a good smoke you need to be looking for 100% cloudy or milky trichs but a lot of people like to go 80% cloudy 20% amber this is simply down to personal taste.

What does it mean to flush a plant and why does that need to be done?

It needs to be done at the end of the plant. It is to wash out the Salts from the feed that you might have use. JMO as far as I know.
