Default Using a controller with an 8 inch iso max fan

Hi there I'm trying to manage the temps in my tent so looking at controllers. I've got an 8 inch iso max exhaust and a smaller intake fan. I've noticed on the box for the isomax is says "do not use with any controller" however I've been reading that people are using them, the SMS COM hybrid came up but a bit more than what I'm looking to pay. Can I use a cheaper alternative ? Was looking at A Ram Air Pro. Is this safe to do or not lol

Sorry if this is a noob question

Not sure on the RAM controller but I use ecotechnics evolution controller. Best bit of kit I've bought. Get them from £110 to £150. I got a reconditioned one, jobs a gooden😁

And that will be ok to use with the iso max fan? I can probably stretch to that. Just a little confused as to what controllers work for what kind of fans. The growell website suggests using a control freak with the isomax but they want 270 quid for it and I'm not sure it's going to make that much difference to my set up

I'm pretty sure it's compatible with any single speed fan mate, I use a 6" rhino with mine. I think joker the smoker uses an 8" but I'm not sure what make it is though. Loads of people use it on here.

Mine is connected to an incoming 6" rvk and outgoing 8" rvk with no bother at all. Doubt the make of fan makes a difference, mate.

As an aside, the ecotechnics took me from being a horribly sh*te grower to only a sorta sh*te grower 😄 In all seriousness though, it'll change your whole grow game...
