Hey Vale.. just a tip, i suppose you already know, and maybe the solution seems far from your pocket, but just in case, you having a great hot & humidity problem for such a young plant.. you need to raise the humidity above 50% and lower below 30 ºc, this would be easy with humidifiers, if you have a small tent or something similar it is very easy to make a small homemade humidifier with a PChome fan and a shoe rope for example .. also to make small refrigerators with a beach fridge and an extractor, everything is in google. Good luck!!

    THANK YOU!!!

My tent is very puny (a Hydroshoot 40, 40 x 40 x 120 cm) so some things are more possible than others. HOWEVER, I am sure I can rig up something to fit an ice pack of some sort by the intake vent or circulation fans and put a tub of water in there.
    Fight for your health.

yeah, that was my adaptation to some ideas that I had seen, that's why I told you about taking ideas from google, once you see the concept, you can adapt it to those utensils that you have, so you will not spend a euro... the best thing is that they are easy to make and really cheap, you only need to have ice near...

    I love zero-cost ideas!! <3

I put a plastic ice-pack in there and already the temperature has dropped to the high 27s, so the idea definitely works, even if it is a very-micro climate.

Now it is down to fabricating a toast rack kind of structure to hold my ice packs, and stand that in front of a fan. Or use something to act as spacers and strap up the stack of ice packs.

    22th June 2018, Day 27 from sowing.
    Light/darkness: 18/6

    Tent stats:

Lamp: 2 clusters (out of 4)
    Temp: 29.2 deg C
    Humidity: 30%

    Text only update:

Humidity rose up straight away after I placed a zero budget "wet flannel in a food tub" device in the tent last night. This morning the flannel was bone dry and no water is left in the tub. I can only guess that the evaporation worked but once that had dried up the humidity dropped again. I have a bigger tub of water in there now and hopefully that will keep the air a bit drier in the tent.

Temperatures have been high due to external factors, we have been having a bit of a heat wave. The temperatures have cooled somewhat now, but it will go up again. The room temperature is 26.9 deg C, so just a little cooler than inside the tent.

Sammy is getting bigger, with new growth that looks healthy and without blemish, unlike the spotty 3-fingered leaves. There is a top node that is about to open into more new leaves and new growth. I plan on topping it once the top tip opens up a little bit more.

    23th June 2018, Day 28 from sowing.
    Light/darkness: 18/6

    Tent stats:

Lamp: 2 clusters (out of 4)
    Temp: 28.6 deg C
    Humidity: 35%

Sammy is getting bigger, and is smelling *really* good!

The humidity remains low but we'll think of something.

Will be giving her a hair cut and a topping today. No water was given as the pot is still heavy.

J Trich, are you psychic? Thanks for the advice about humidity! I think she is looking better because of that, thank you so much!

I repotted Sammy as per your advice, albeit a bit reluctantly as she is still so small. HOWEVER, YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT REPOTTING, as a tiny root, a beautiful fuzzy strand of white root was just starting to poke out from the bottom of the pot.

She now lives in the 6.5 litre pot. The soil I used is some plain potting soil from the garden centre, mixed with vermicullite. I used a light sprinkle of Vitax Q4 mycorrhizae and threw in some old freebie samples of Myco-Fusion Green and Bio Charge. Watered with water that had been mixed with a dollop of glycerine as the soil was a bit parched. Also removed 3 of the most sickliest leaves and she looks better already.

Humidity, or the lack of, is still an issue. The passive "tub of water + flannel" technique clearly works as it was bone dry when I checked this morning, but the numbers remain low in the low 30% region.

She is looking great, I'd say!

Temps are a bit of a nightmare for now, but we just have to get creative. RH%-wise I am only using the zero-budget tub and flannel method, but seems to be working well enough for the plant to function.

Watered with plain water (with a little glycerine), and fed Black Magic at about 20% strength.

Since the tips are ever so slightly burnt I am not going to be feeding at a higher strength for the rest of the week.

Sammy is getting bigger and stronger, yay!!

The other good news is that for a pure Sativa, she is staying extremely compact! Some say that is what LEDs do, and who am I to argue?

The colour balance is way off in the camera, it is 10 years old so I do apologise!!

I gave her a small amount of Plantgrow and water, nothing is needed as she is doing so well.

The topped growth tip has healed and has formed into 2 very strong new growing tips. She is also branching out very nicely, though for now she is staying quite squat. However she is getting "huge" as she is starting to flex her sativa genetics and if she is going to triple her size, the flip is coming up fast!!

I plan on flipping to 12/12 this Saturday which will be day 42. So in the next few days the dark hours will increase by 1 hour 30 mins per day until 12/12 is reached. I have also topped her on 3 separate locations to encourage branching. I have not decided on whether to ScrOG or just stake, that decision will be made when we get to that point, but LST is very much on the agenda.

In terms of nutes she will continue to get grow nutes until the current batch is used up. I have a low nitrogen cactus feed lined up, as well as P in the form of Superphosphate and K in the form of Potash. Liquid seaweed, and Plantgrow will be given probably on a weekly basis.

Really can't believe how well that "Black Magic" has done. Imagine using proper nutes (and hydro)...

What are proper nutes (too bloody many of them thats for sure), NPK is what they need, if its in the bottle they grow. The Capt. grows with Tomorite

    Looking good Valentina
