    Best of luck mate

Hi mate, there's a site called gogrowhydroponics and it has 22 tips or so that might benefit you.

If you wanna find them tips just type in google gogrowhydroponics 22 tips tips to cool down your indoor garden

Maybe you might find what you're looking for. Im not sure where you are in the world and your tems but i think a cool hood is your best option..Or just try more fans.

To me a 400w hps is to hot for that sized tent but i could be wrong. You could always try a lower wat hps though like 250w then add in some cfls?..

If you go the coolhood route go for a cool tube, they are most efficient at removing heat from bulb.

Also heat air rises so make sure your exhaust is at the rear/top if it isnt already mate. While making sure you got good airflow coming in.

    Hope this helps a little.

I mean he could try but Leds can be really expensive. Specially if you want a dual spectrum and decent yields. He might be okay with a 300w mars hydro but keeping a Led light in a enclosed space can also be bad for the bulbs not to mention he needs 12-18inches space from the plant so as it grows he might run out of space.

Im going the cfl route for my first grow as its also going to be in a small space. A couple of dual spectrum 300w cfls will do fine for me.. Hps are amazing when it comes to yields but everyone has a certain preference they like.

300w cfl - 75-98 lumens per watt consumed so 24,000-25,000 lumens
    400w hps - 137 lumems per watt - 55,000 lumems
