    Default which parabolic reflector ????

Hi guys i am soon to buy a parabolic reflector my question is to keep heat down to a minimum over the canopy do i go for the vertical bulb type or the horizontal bulb type, i would think the vertical type but having no experience of these reflectors i thought it would be better to ask first, cheers guys, G'.

Go with the vertical bulb and get a model that has vents around the top where the bulb sits. Sunmasters a good one and fairly cheap too.

You can also mod the shade as you put it together by bending down the tops to allow heat to escape better. Check this thread if you haven’t already

cool tube or hood will control temps better imo, i have both para an hood. i use hood in summer as para still gives off bit more heat imo.

i also use para in veg an then decide if i wana swap it in flower, depends on the headroom an ambient weather for me

Tbf I got low canopy growing to a fine art however I just couldn’t use one in my area as if the height don’t cause problems the heat will.maybe if I get to set up in a room I’ll give it a go.cooltubes for now.

Switched from cooltube to vertical parabolic few months ago. Not going back to horizontal bulb ever again. Light spread seems much more even and natural, no hotspots and canopy temp is only 2 celsius higher than tent temp.
