Default Answered: Should I remove fan leaves of my bushy plant?

Hi. I've got this Amnesia haze plant and its sooo bushy. Im wondering would it help to remove all big fan leaves to give more light for the bottom branches? Im growing in a really tight space so all the light is going from the top and barely from the sides. Its a couple weeks into flowering now. Thanks

Any pruning will stress the plant to a degree but these are hardy bastards, mate! Usually it will just slow your growth down for a few days or so..."

Before just removing the leaves, have you tried training the plant out?

I'm haven't finished my first grow yet but I suggest you read up about defoliation there are certain times in your plants cycle that maybe be beneficial to do it

Train it out a bit first, tie some of the branches down and open the plant up a bit, and get the canopy a bit more level. Then, you will see where you stand and can remove some of those upper leaves the get more light to the side stems. Butdont do too much, just a few leaves, there are certain times when its best to do big trims. You just want to get more light to the smaller side shoots from the main stem at this point.

I would seriously look into it before you go chopping anything off

id remove those leaves right at the bottom next to the soil, simply to allow better air circulation
the rest i would leave until you decide to flower,

removing too many will only slow down the growth

Thanks for the relpies dudes, but I cannot train due to limited space. There are like 6 very big fan leaves that are mostly covering all lower branches. Not sure if that would stress the plant so much If I was just to cut them off?

I've learn over the years, when the plant is in the veg stage, if you remove fan leaves, they just replace them and more. lol
