Default Add more CFL or HPS to setup?

    Hi folks,

Apologies for all the links. Thought it would be the best way to explain what I am using.

Started my first grow last week. 2 AutoBrooklyn Sunrise. They are under a long 110w CFL now and i have a 125w blue CFL 6500k as well to add as they grow into vegging. I was going to buy another, but found a (what seems to me) well priced HPS system in a nearby shop.

    What I currently am using-125w cool-*************************** and 110w Dual CFL ************************************************** ************
So, this is the HPS i was thiking of adding. ************************************

Should I ? Or go for another CFL?

Apologies for all the links. Thought it would be the best way to explain what I am using.

    Confused,,,

not enough real watts for cfls.. plus lumens wont be much or par.... just get a real decent 600w system that seems way cheap tbh I trust Sunmasters bulbs and there newer digi ballast are great.... that ballast in the link is loud and hot. and the hood looks real cheap to

Depends on size of room your growing in.

But as above I would ditch the Cfls and go out all hps, I personally used the omega digital set up with no problems and good results.....

Ok...so you you guys reckon that HPS setup is not great? Too loud and too hot? 600w seems a lot-most people here seem to use 400w for small grows like i am doing..Still, i am trying to really keep costs to a minimun. Too loud-i dont care too much. Too hot-they are not growing in a tent or anything. Just in a fair sized room.

Won;t be able to buy it for a couple of weeks-short on cash. Will the CFLs I have get me through some of the vegging stage until then?

I thought about what you said about noise/heat etc. Found a good adjustable and affordable digital ballast https://getupandgrow.ie/shop/digital-ballast-black/

I'll use it with a 250w or 400w HPS. I think thats better than the previous idea.

Could you explain that? 200w cfl isn't 200w?

So, for just these two plants, if i go with the 250w HPS will that be enough? or go 400w? (Thinking about the lecky bill..)
