Default Answered: how long should I wait after transplanting to put my girls into flower?

Hi guys, so basically I was just wondering how much time I should give the ladies before putting them into flower after transplanting? I have gone from a 5l pot, to a 20l pot and transplanted exactly a week ago, and with in the first 4 days they had grown 5" making the biggest 2ft tall and most of the arest no more the 6" behind.. and have roots at the bottom of the pot and because of the fresh soil i am only giving bio silicon and alg-a-mic, they start week 9of veg today though so ideally i dont want thwm going ro much longer, and theyare under an 300w led currently but am going to moving some today under a 400w hps as i need to split my plants between 2 tents , and advice would be much appreciated so thanks I'm advance!

I often flip on day of transplant just since my veg tent is too small. I did a side by side grow where both plants were allowed to fully grow in 2 gallon containers. On flip day i transplanted 1 plant into a 3 gallon and left the other 2 gallon alone. The 3 gallon produced far better than the 2 gallon. I have not finished drying yet but i would guess about 30% more.

pls excuse autocorrect. i am high of course.

I like to wait 2 weeks after potting up before I flip but it is very much a personal thing. My reason is I believe root growth slows dramatically in flower. When a plant starts stretching and then flowering after flip it takes a lot of energy so root development may then take a back seat. Remember in the wild the plant would not be transplanted just before it flowers and will have already built up a good root mass. I grow in small pots (8 litre) and like the roots bursting through the sides of the fabric pots (or airpots if you use them) before I flip.

I have only ever grown in coco so have no experience with soil.

Thanks for taking the time to respond mate, tbf It didn't look like the transplant effected them at all they just took off straight away and as I said on my last post most of them already show roots from the bottom of the pot, think I will leave the lights off till tonight then and start them on 12/12, thanks for the advice mate
