Simply, my tap water is all good, 7.0 ph, few trace elements, but now I'm going organic, should I consider gettin rain water for my plant?

It's the lack of trace elements that would stop me from doing it

Since growing in mud and using batmix, taking the leap into organics. A Old member and a good friend the organic magician told me my best option was rain water as it’s straight from the heavens. I’ve got a water butt and it’s only attached to rain water pipe but I’ve not got a pump that’s big enough to pump it back into my loft. The reason for using this and I’m sure reds will agree it has no whatsoever chlorine ( chloromites ? )of any form. Which apparently we never fully get rid of it even after standing the water

That's what I'm thinking mate, the chlorine is not going to be good for the medium if I want to grow bacteria in it. I'm gonna get a but outside and strt collecting.

When I feed the Eco thrive microbe tea once a week ( Fridays) I'll mix it Thursday an add airstone for 24 hours, that should be perfect drink for them then, right?

trouble with rain water/butt water is that theres no micro nutes in it far as i can tell,so itll be down to your soil to provide those.

ive used butt water and have struggled with unknown deffs, often they resemble other "normal" deffs unfortunately, and have had to use added micronutes(canna do them),this in turn made my organic grow "possibly" not organic as i wasnt sure of the micronutes added were organic or not.
it was a struggle and deffs continued right to harvest so havent used butt water since.

judging by what/how rain is "made",basically distilled far as i know, which is boiled/evaporated and then condensed it seems its little different from filtered purified water and thats definately no good for growing on its own as i found out.

rain obviously works ok for outdoor grows so its down to the soil i reckon, soils we buy dont seem to have much in the way of copper, iron boron etc and they are some wierd deffs when they show up

easy enough to let mains water sit out to clear chlorine so i stick with that now.

It’s a proven method for watering and has worked for millions of years. If you are trying to replicate nature. Surely rain water is a must. Reds where is ya 🇬🇧

    didnt work here

mind id hazard a guess and say rainwater is possibly different the world over, with different results, but if ive got how rain is "made" right then there cant be any micros after boiling and condensing, thats how water is purified to zero content.

    yep redz territory for sure.

Rainwater isn’t quite made by boiling water but normal daily evaporation 😃 my garden grows well on it and I’m sure these outdoor gorilla growers love and hate the rain 😃 especially in the uk 🇬🇧
