Affordable 250w HPS

Hi folks,

I have been looking at a *lot* of those cheap HPS kits on amazon and they all seem a bit unreliable. Too many bad reviews of ballasts breaking. However I really need a 250w or 400w HPS kit with ballast that is not going to break the bank. (Recently lost my job)

Something under 150 euro/130 GBP if possible.

Any ideas? Or is it not really possible without buying garbage that will break half way through a grow or catch on fire?

I use an omega dimmable. Can't think how much it cost but I've had it for years and it was no more than £100.

@Easy-T That lumatek is listed at 160 euro here..but that might be ok if i can find a cheap bulb to go with it..

@ironman I was looking at one of those that you mentioned in a shop near me..Might go with it.

I also found a full 250w kit for 100euro. Seems to be no name, but looks well made. its a shop called dublinindoorgardening and its the 250w hps kit. IF anyone could take a look at that and let me know what they think i would appreciate it.

just get a magnetic ballast, there's little difference between the two and only 1/3 the price,

I've no problem using magnetic, just some of the ones on amazon were getting bad reviews. People saying they burn our of break in 2 months. Worried about fire as well
