Default Xpelair VAC1 fan controller with thermostat

    High everyone,

So to control my fan I have a xpelair VAC1 on order, which will hopefully allow me to manually set my fan. I have seen people who add in thermostats so the fan kicks in at 100% at a set temp.

As this thermostat has to go in the grow tent is this not dangerous? Would something like this work so I could keep all the electrics away?

    *** NO LINKS PLEASE***

Sorry, my electrical skills are basic at best. Thanks guys

If you Google wiring xpelair grow room you'll find it. Cheap 5 speed fan controller that you manually set for your speed. If you add a thermostat fan kicks in at set temp and reduces it, managing your tent.

I'll see how I get on with just the fan controller. Hoping to keep it quiet but haven't tried with my hps yet

Its a WAC1 and is meant to control low speed ceiling fans, you may find it will not work on the low settings unless your fan/s have capacitors fitted. IMO you would be better of with an Inkbird ITC 308, similar price without diy thermostats and mains electricity with little electrical knowledge (dangerous at best, lethal at worst)

I looked at products like that but didnt seem to fit my needs.

I have the WAC1 on the way so I'm just going to wire that up, hopefully no thermostat needed. My electrical skills are basic but not unsafe. I'd never play with leccy since it bit me before (totally unrelated to my leccy skills haha)
