Default How long before cuttings show roots?

    Hi all,

I was just wondering how long do cuttings usually take to show signs of roots.
My mate took some cuttings and used Formulex and small Rockwood cubes, and placed them in an incubator. This was 2 weeks ago today.

The cuts are looking ok with new growth showing, but no signs any roots. He says when he gives them a gentle tug they feel like they've gripped. But not sure if its taking longer than usual, possibly due to high humidity in the incubator, or an error using Formulex. Or maybe just impatient.

They are under blue lights 24hrs, and am now debating whether or not to transfer them into small pots of coco and continue with the Formulex. The thinking here is the coco would keep the roots warmer, if a cooler root temp is causing slow growth.

Any help appreciated, just to set our mind at rest.

    Thanks 👍🏼

Mine normally take around 2 weeks to root, taking them out of the propagator every now and again will also help them along. as for potting up id wait until you can see roots coming out of the rock wall

Can take 2-4 weeks. Be patient, bro 😉

Here are roots in 1 week. In Root Riot Coco plug, no formulex, just put in plug and soak in water until root appeared. Scrape side of stems with knife first.
