Root bound or some kink of deficiency ?

As the title says I think I have some kind of deficiency ( pics below ) or they might have used up all the nutes in the soil. I Started getting yellow spots on some leaves and black blotches on others. Also the lower leaves have slowly started turning yellow. I unpotted one plant and you can see roots at the side but they aren't showing on the bottom at all yet, could they still be root bound. I'm Growing five plants in 4" pots with Homebase potting compost. They are about 3 1/2 weeks old growing under 400w hps and temps are always below 30c and above 15c.

One important thing is that no shop anywhere near me sells the like of perlite or any of the very good soils, so what would you reccommend I repot in.

I cant see any perlite / drainage solution in there. water overload maybe?

Well I cant get any perlite but would drainage problems really cause the spots and blotches. I thought the sign of that would be very droopy leaves.
