Default AC linked to inkbird temp controler

Hi, I have AC linked to inkbird temp controler. The manual says to use the controls to turn off the AC and not to disconnect it from the mains while in use as "problems can occur. If you are bypassing the proper controls by unplugging, then know that you could fail the unit by plugging it back in too soon IF the compressor was running when you killed the power".

My worry is that the inkbird controler is bassicly killing the power once it reaches a certain temp and this is bassicly the sane as unplugging the AC from the mains! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Bad idea to use the inkbbird.

Just like with dehumidifiers, air con compressors will fail if power is cut/reapplied at the wrong moment.

You could possibly get away with it by using a lot of hysterisis ( like AC on at 35, off at 25 )but then you've lost your control

Use the AC controls, that should have a thermostat, if not why not

As said Inkbird's are not for equipment that needs to overrun, ok for fans, heaters, humidifiers etc.

The problem is that the AC is outside of the tent with the inlet fan going. I'll put a link to my grow diary below so you can have a look if your interested. I'l just have e to turn the AC on to its highest setting while I'm at work and turn it off in the evening. Which id know this before investing in the AC (slaps forehead)

Ah yeah I remember, portable AC, never the best idea if they're not in the tent. It might be possible to rewire the internal thermostat and put on extended cable into tent but I would have to look into it a bit further...

If you could I would really appreciate. Thanks for taking the time to get back to me regardless. First time in my life I'm dreading the oncoming heatwave haha

Top man. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

This is the model I belive: http://www.igenix.co.uk/product/port...tioner-ig9901/

Your temps sound ideal! I was getting 40 degrees with lights on 2 weeks ago and there wasn't even a heatwave!

    Right few questions :

Is it deffo the 9901 & not the 9901 wifi, if the latter, this could be real easy

    If the former then...

Did you buy it new ? as this will kill the guarantee...

How good are you with wiring, electronics etc. ?

First you need to find the thermistor responsible (assuming this as no info on the Igenix) usually in front of the output somewhere (means taking the front off, turn off power & unplug) and looks like a small black bubble with 2 wires, then you need to cut the two wires and extend them into your tent and re attach (solder) the thermistor to the other end making sure you insulate the connections.

Make sure that you leave enough wire on the thermistor when you cut it as too much heat from soldering will kill it in seconds
