Default quick question on veg bulb

hey guys i have a 600W hps set up i use a emperor high output bulb and i get way to much stretch in my first three weeks of flower i would really like to slow this down abit but starting with a veg bulb with blue spec or what ever i have never used usually i use my T5 setup with 100W and veg till ft/hf and then put into the flower tent and veg for another week hf- two weeks this is also why i would like a veg bulb for those two weeks of veg aswell not looking to spend alot any ideas???

Just get a metal halide bulb, they do help
also don't switch to hps until the stretch is completely over

is a MH bulb blue spectrum ?? or dual or what?? and ya i dont have anything but the hps other then my T5 setup but thats only good for so long then they need ot be in the tent so if i get a 600W MH and put that on 50% first two weeks while they veg abit more then flip to 12/12 ill turn up to 100% and then once the stretch is done i switch to my hps ???

Don't think you can dim mh lights might be wrong sure I read you can dim the ballast but you have to use on correct setting for the bulb? Example dim ballast to 250 use only 250w dim to 400 only use 400w mh

ok because i would dim my hps down to 50% and its been fine still running strong, but mabye mh is different the only issue is when i put them in the tent from 100W the 600w its way to much light right away so by tunring it down it makes them alot happier ezing into it slowly what do you think i should do ??

MH bulbs CANNOT be dimmed, it changes the colour spectrum.
    Stay with recommend Watts...
If you are using a 600w HPS then a 400W MH would suffice for veg...
Mh for veg is meant to produce nice green plants with tight nodes...
How long you veg for is up to you...a lot depends on the size of tent and whether you LST...
    Just what I read...

I had the same issue with my 600w hps the last two grows, i read that flipping to 12/12 and keeping the veg bulb (mh/cfl) in for 2 to 3 weeks helps.. I am currently trying this with my 300w cfl i use for veg and i am pleasantly surprised that the stretch has happened and slowed down quicker then with my 600w hps, it also made my bud spots form quicker believe it or not..

Stretch isn't always a bad thing, just in the veg stage, Some stretch in the flowering stage can be benifulst.

No that is true, but in my situation on the previous 2 grows i had stretch to the point that the top of the plants where around 3 inches away from the bulb and a few buds touching in the end. For me trying the veg bulb has helped me get the height i want and buds seemed to imo form quicker, it could be a multitude of other things aswell for me but i believe im seeing different results from this little change.
