    Default Drying concern

So i harvested one of my two autos the other day.

Did the trimming and the bids are hanging in the wardrobe with a gentle USB fan in there too. I am curious about one thing though-the smell has changed. They smelled lovely and cannabis-y for the first 24 hours, but now they smell a bit...hay-like? Or just not as good as they did.

I heard that that will change when they dry fully and go into jars. Is that right or have i done something wrong? Want to make sure to avoid the same mistake with the second plant.

Yeah, that's normal, its the chlorophyl drying out. Keep doing what you're doing and burp the jars daily when they get there, It will go away

Nice work mate. Pretty sure I screwed up all parts of harvest a few weeks ago (1st grow). Harvested too early for a start. Didn't get conditions right when hanging so the buds dried a bit quick. Also guessing I watered too close to the chop as it took forever for the stems to snap rather than bend.
I'm slowly using it up by mixing it with better stuff each smoke lol

I seem to just have gotten stupidly lucky through this grow..No tent, no filters, no nothing. Made mistakes, got spider mites, but the plants never faltered. The bud is a bit airy, but there is a good amount of it and it is really strong judging by the little test i had last night.

One quick question for anyone who knows-are those jars with the rubber seal and the wire handle thingy ok for storing the bud in? Or what about just normal jam/coffee jars?

Yeah, mate. Those mason jars are the business. Fill them up about two thirds of the way to leave some space for air circulation. Pop a small hygrometer in the jars to check the rh. Should be aiming for 62% or thereabouts. You can also buy Boveda packs (62%) which help regulate the rh. I got some off the rain-forest or fleabay, I can't remember. Burp the jars for 10-15 minutes a day for the first week and then for 10-15 minutes every couple of days thereafter until your cure is done

The main thing is don't dry them to fast brother, once dried and put into mason jars you'll be surprised how much the aroma changes as you are curing, i opened a new jar yesterday to make the wife her medicinal J's it had been sitting on 62% for 5/6 months and the aroma was unbelievable man more so when it went through the grinder

Good to hear. Smells a lot better now-very fruity. But it still has a kind of perfumey taste i am not a fan of.
