Autos and potting up....

Thinking of starting some autos off and get a quick run in rather then doing a scrog for my second grow. What's the best way to go about getting them potted up? I'm lookin at cracking in paper towel, peatdisc, small pot about the size of a mug then... do i just final pot them into 15lt pots??

Germ it in paper towel, plant it in the peat pellet and put it in final pot soon as she's up is what I do 😉 good luck

First grow here, I left them in water for 24hours, then popped them into pots of soil covered with cling film left them in the attic for 2/3 days until the sprouted.

Potted up about 4/5 days ago and they seem perfectly fine.

I think the trick is to let the soil dry a bit then tip the pots upside down (hand over the soil with plant between fingers) when you can see a few roots have reached the edge but not started spiralling then is a the time to pot up. Another way but I'm not sure it's 100% accurate is when the leaves reach the edge of the pot then you can pot up, but past the edge the roots will likely have started spiralling.

You dont pot up autos mate. The tap root on autos comes out and will grow until it reaches the bottom of the pot, then air prune.

Once that’s done, it’s send hormones to the plant letting it know, this is how much root space with have, dont grow too big.

Plant in final pots, paper towel first of you like, but I like to go straight to medium nowadays. No fucking about, seeds are reliable as fuck, and pop 99% of the time. The paper towel thing is from the old school days when seeds were shit 😉

10-15l pot, and you’ll smash it mate

Yip with Macky here, don't mess about with Auto plants. Seed in what ever propagation method you use and straight into final pot.

Im gonna pop the seed straight in the growing medium next time and not bother with the peat pellet. Plant, water and straight under the lights on the next grow !!

I've seen loads of conflicting thoughts on potting up autos (not to mention topping!) I can only talk from previous experience. I potted up 6 Jack Herer autos last year and stunted each and every one of them. Scrapped them and restarted in final pots and they grew beautifully.

Read into that what you will lol
