    Default High Humidity Growing

Been reading and speaking to a few people about higher humidities being better for the plants. The obvious reason we try to keep humidity down during flower being for fear of getting pathogens. Mold, mildew etc etc

so Iíve been looking into stopping this, came across a thread on another forum talking about using essential oils in diffusers in the room. Tea tree, cinnamon and some others. Also there is a product called cleanlight air which uses uv and a couple of other filtration/purification techniques to cleanse the air of pathogens.....supposedly.

has anyone got any experience in growing in higher than usual humidities throughout flower with clay was or using any of the above mentioned techniques?

i usually keep my humidity at 50 during flower and reduce it towards then end further, Iíd like to see if I could raise that into the 60ís and see where it takes me

the problem is humidity though, high humidity/moisture isn't good especially for large main colas in flower,
most won't risk it with an entire crop though, especially not late in flower

i do as you stated and keep my rH% in flower as low as i can

ITs all about air flow IMHO , Most people outdoors n the uk flower in high RH without issues , And clearly people people who have gr8 ventilation and air flow dont get rot so ....

Still i dont really see what is any benefit to having a higher Rh during flower would be ,

I like to keep my groom below 50% in late flower, got a touch of grot during 1 grow through high Rh but luckily it was just a touch on 1 bud, went straight out and bought a 20ltr dehumidifier, no probs now, G'.

Yeah Iíve always kept it around there, just thinking if I could push the limits. Would it increase yield/quality and could I keep the air clean enough to stop or drastically reduce the chance of Mold

It does indeed. Positive stress in week 7/8 makes the lady protect herself even more

Not sure how low you should go Vs damaging the quality though.

Im going to try 50 in flower and finish on 40.

Cheers gardro. I'm not going nuts then!

I must of read somewhere. Got mine sitting around 50 as well.

I was thinking towards the end of flower is to turn heat up a bit maybe around 28 and water less. Try to get it nearer 40 as I can get dehumidifier in!!

if you defoliate that'll also help drop the rH% at the end of flower is does no harm

I heard that stress near the chop increases THC and seen a lot of guys stem splitting near the end and if their videos are to be believed it did seem to make the girls produce more sugar, anyone ever heard of or tried this stem splitting, may tru it on one of my girls as nothing much to loose at the given time of doing it, G'.

it's never really been proven to help though, same as watering with iced water, to shock the plants
unfortunately thc/oils are in response to uv rather than heat iirc

If the humidity and temperature are high, there will be trouble.
