    Default Help with ducting noise

So i meed my room as quiet as possible. I've got a 6" rhino for out take with normal ducting and the sound of air moving through it is loud. So whats the recommended ducting to use to help with the air movement. Cheers
P.s the silver ducting has hundreds of tiny holes in has anyone noticed this before

there's a few option, you can get acoustic ducting or phonic trap ducting
a silencer will help so will an acoustic box for the fan to sit in,

there definitely noisy, but the noise is only coming from the air movement

Ive made a box like the box fans you can get but it's the air movement thats the problem. The trap ducting is too pricey so the other option is the acustic but which one because I've seen posts saying the some has holes in it.

just go to google or ebay/amazon and check for 'acoustic ducting'
for 5 meters of 150mm/6 inch acoustic ducting == £22

turn off your fan b4 you fit it or you'll blow fiberglass everywhere lol

    Default Help with ducting noise

I’ve literally just finished replacing all mine with combi ducting and it’s a considerable difference. It’s as thought it’s coated with a plastic. I found the acoustic more hassle than it’s worth and twice as bulky.

Would smooth plastic pipe/ducting be any better?

Acoustic ducting and speed reducer for the win. Can’t hear my fans at all. Just the gentle Russel of leaves.... not really, ‘‘tis still a bit loud, but you can’t hear it unless you’re in the room.

Obviously the fan still makes as much noise but the whooshing of the air through the ducting has dropped a lot plus it’s not full of tiny holes any more
