Can anyone clear up if I use two 150w CMH lamps will they be nearly as effective as one 315w I have been given both but only couple ballasts for the 150w ones didn’t know if I should invest in bigger ballast for the 315w Philips 430’s or Just use the two 150w powerballs ?

I fully understand that two 150w is 300w and there by not as powerful as the 315w but was wondering if there were losses that by running 2 ballasts would result in less effective

This is a legit grow lamp. 315W

This is not designed for growing and would be considered unsafe to use in an open reflector.

That being said I do not know that the 150W is a grow lamp, sure any lamp can be used for growing but not sure it is the same as the 315W CDM / CFM lamps."

I never realised they did a 150w version... I'll have to take a look

They do the 942 and 930 and about £10 a lot cheaper than the 315w Philips. Philips 315w is about 35k lumens and the Osram 150w 16200 lumens on paper looks like they may be ok but everywhere I look they seem to be the 315w is the popular choice

Phillip's was specifically marketing the 315 as a grow lamp. This is the first I have heard of the 150.
