Under £100 hopefully, second hand from Ebay as well is my usual ploy. Ecotchnics Evolution iirc or is there a decent alternative which isn't noisy?
    Let's get it on!

Yeah you should be able to get ecotechnics for under a 100 second hand.

If you want super quiet, have a look at smscom hybrid on ebay second hand around 125

Nice one, I'll keep my eyes peeled and move on this variac. Suppose it's easier in the long run.

Quick update, I've managed to bag an SMSCOM 4 amp hybrid for £110.
    Should be growing very soon

Just a quick follow up, this thing is awesome.
I've finally got my loft set up in progress and had the controller in place for 3 days now, the fans are crazy quite when the room is colder, really chuffed to bits with it.

I do have another question though so rather than start a new thread I'll ask here.

The air coming from the pipe of the extraction fan isn't really warm at all, not what I was expecting anyway. Why would this be when temps in the room at the minute are ranging from high to low 20s?
I had plans to extract through the chimney but I've ditched this for now, instead I'm going to extend the pipe to get to the bathroom vent pipe thing across the loft.
But then again with temps so low coming out of the extraction pipe (and will get lower when really cold weather kicks in) am I safe to vent into the loft?

    Heat is not temperature

It could be a tiny bit hotter to the feel but the flow is nonetheless carrying a lot of heat

    Heat is quantity
    Temperature is quality

Glad the hybrid is working its stuff for you
