    Default My attempt at LST.

I been messing with some wire and I have gone for it. Being a newbie to growing, Iv never tried this before.
After seeing some of the results, i was like “I’ll have some of that”.

Hers my attempt, I have done similar LST on all 4.

    Opinions? Cheers all

Be careful the plants don't grow around the wire mate... I've read it can screw things up a bit.

Can't really tell how big the pot is but looks like you could top up the medium a bit.

    Happy growing brother

Done my first LST'ing with my last plant and the results/yield from my previous grows were huge! Really had fun with it. Obviously was shitting myself in the early stages as i didnt want to go OTT and fuck up my plant but had no issues. Good luck mate!

How do I prevent it not growing around the wire mate?

They are 30l pots. The rim/fill line is 30l mark.

    Cheers

By checking on the wire-stem contact point about every other day. And if the stem bulges behind the wire, loosen it.

I do mine in a sort of S-hook so the wire does not go all the way around the stem. Either use a heavier gauge wire, or fabricate one by twisting a few lengths of the green twist ties together like a rope. So one side of the S (or a C) goes over the stem, the other hooks the lip of the pot.

=No drilling, no rough bits on the pot to catch onto clothing or trap dirt, unlikely for stem growth to get ligatured off by the wire.

I agree with regards to the medium, but I would tap the plant out of the bucket, top that with soil, put plant back, fill the sides with soil. But that's just me. This might also add a week or so to your grow.

Ah, I see, I’ll keep my eye on that. Thanks. “S” hook makes sense tbf. I’ll look at changing it slightly.

So add another couple of litres of soil to the pot would be worth doing? They got about 27/28 litres in at the min.

    Thanks Val

Wow, those pots didn't look like 30 ltrs when I looked. Guess that'll be plenty

I tried various lst techniques and settled on some 2mm wire. Had a roll of it so just snapped bits off by bending repeatedly and then I bent em into tight u bends. Then I pinned the stems down with em straight into the soil/coco.

Seemed to work well. I'm using cloth pots tho so tying to the sides didn't work out for me as it moved too much

Yeah deciveing ain’t they, , just shy of full line so prob 27/28 litres in them all. They are deep, over 12 inch tall.

Fair play “tight u bends” I’d shit myself if I did that man haha. One step at a time for me lol.
My wire is probably a big thin then. It’s like 1mm tops, maybe thinner.

Yeah I can imagine. These pots got a good rim, simply bend wire over the lip and up underneath, it’s holding them well. Occasionally slip off tho while feeding.

    Cheers Mate
