Sorry for posting a link, my bad, sorry guys, I didn’t think if I was honest, but anyway guys I’ve read on net that removing fan leaves in flower stage is better for the flower/bud as the fan leaves restrict air movement getting to parts of the flower/bud and restrict a lot of light too, and it says along the lines of, “the fan leaves take a lot of energy away from what the grower wants, the harvest”, is this true guys & gals, a reason I ask is the stunted plant looks preset bush and there’s a lot of fan leaves on the plant, which some look bigger than the plant lol, if I can’t remove them, can you cut them in half, or would this affect the plant in any way?

Hmmmmm take it I’ll ignore the net and leave them if they’re meant to be but on reading on sites I was going to chop most off, why on earth do sites this and say these things when they’re clearly wrong, if you guys hadn’t replied I’d have took majority off when I get back in a couple of days, it’s just as well I asked, I try to find out from the net rather than bug you guys with silly questions but when I’m in two minds that’s when I ask, but cheers guys really appreciate it, thanks Gary

The fan leafs are big solar panels

The last week of a grow I may remove a few more of them, but that is just personal choice

Thanks M_C, I never realised they absorbed light and heat for the plant, I thought they where mainly just to get energy up the plant and thought if I took the fan leaves off more heat and light would get to and around the plant better, and I thought they where called fan leaves to help and protect the plant from to much heat and to help keep the plant keep cool, but now I’m thinking do I leave them, I can’t afford to affect the yield as it is as it’s going to be pretty poor, cheers Gary

I do this on pretty much every grow I do. The more air flow and light the less chance of mold, mildew and bugs late into flower. I never defoliate past 3 weeks into flower and when I do its a decent amount depending on the strains (if its bushy or not). Indicas more so than Sativas in my experience. Again this may be strain dependent but I've never suffered any adverse affects. When I began Manifolding for the most part it definitely helps

Yeah, Indicas can get quite 'leafy' so get that air moving!

Yeah I’ve got glowing with an air conditioning unit, sorry been a while guys there’s been nothing to update really, here’s some pics of her now for those who are interested, I think I’m going to get more than I expected from her, she’s still showing from neut burn guys, and am I right in thinking (if you can see the pics clear enough) but am I right in thinking to start the flush in around a week-week and half?
