    Hi,

    Photo or Auto: PHOTO?

plant age: VEGETATIVE PHASE FOR 3 WEEKS

    pot size: 20CM X 17CM

has it been repotted? and when?: TWO WEEKS AGO

    soil type: VERVE MULTI-PURPOSE COMPOST

nutes or additives used and how often for soil: BIO BIZZ - BIO GROW, WATERED MORNING AND NIGHT

Air temps (max min): 20oC approx - average
    Res temps (max min):

humidity: NOT MONITORED BUT SEEMS DRY AIR

lighting type and wattage (hps, led, cfl): LED LIGHT 600lm, 83/48W, 2700 kelvin

    Light schedule: 18/6

    ph level: 5.0

Plant 1: Growth has slowed and the tips of the leaves are turning brown, crispy and curling upwards

Plant 2: Leaves are very narrow, sharp and don't want to open - or grow at all any more

Looks like you could be feeding her too early....

    Dude, I'd say that:

    1. the soil is too heavy

Not sure how you can blend in some perlite without damaging the plants. Other people might know.

    2. The nutes is probably a bit too strong

I would use plain water for a few days, let the new growth come out, then add the nutes back at quarter strength, if not weaker.

Would be good to have the grow area warmer too.

    Fingers crossed!!!

    Thank you for the info.

    1. The soil does start as a light compost but retains moisture and turns to mud so will replace it perhaps! Will research perlite - thanks

    2. Nutes are quite pungent - will try plain water for a few days then

    Thank you so much

Bio-bizz, too much watering, overfed, bit chilly, but pH of 5.0?

It's a soil grow...just use yer tap water!

You've got to repot them in deeper soil, man...and water once every other day...at most. Wait for the soil to appear dry and light..then just a sprinkle so you get a bit of water out of the bottom of the pot.

Soil won't need any feeding for at least 4 weeks.

Any way to get the temp up a tad?

By the way, is there a fan in your grow area to circulate the space? You want air movement WITHIN the space, then a exhaust fan to take the smelly air through a carbon filter then out into the room / flat / house / dorm room whatever.

Water/feeding morning and night ? No wonder your compost looks like mud. You should be running a wet & dry cycle, let the compost dry out before watering. You wont need to feed either, your compost will have enough feed for 3 to 4 weeks....Where does the pH of 5 come from ? your not adjusting your feed solution to that are you ?

Too much watering makes sense, will get the temp up also. pH of 5.0 was with Bio Bizz and tap water measured at close to pH 6.0 so plain water is the way to go - thanks

Potted them in deeper soil there now- done! What is the best way to water them? If the soil is deeper, surely it would take a lot of water to come out the bottom of the pot and saturate the soil - and risk over-watering? Thanks for advice

    No fan in grow area

They are in the spare bedroom, hope it's ok for growing...

Hi, I've been over-watering the plants big time, oops.. How wet should the compost be / how deep should it be wet, before letting it dry? Have re-potted with more depth now. Solution produced pH of 5.0 and tap water has a pH of almost 6.0

Stop worrying about your tap water - it's a soil grow. I'm guessing you are in the UK as you use Verve soil, so honestly, I find it hard to believe your water cannot be used from the tap. Maybe I'm wrong?

As for watering - Bud has just said...wet/dry cycle - the soil will be as light as a feather when it's dry. At worst, your plant will wilt slightly when it needs water.

My tap water is 7.8 - I do not worry about it when growing in soil

15 of them on a small one-plant scrog might work.

Air circulation and exhaust to a carbon filter will be necessary though.

Why is the pot only half full of soil? ANd as other have said, water less-let the top couple of inches of soil go totally dry before you need to water again. No nutrients for the next couple of weeks. Biggest issue is the light though. I would just invest in a cheap grow light-LED or CFL maybe.
